JANE AND KEITH MANLEY ‘AWAY DAY’ TRAINING

Saturday 4th May 2019
At Avon Tyrell Estate BH23 8EJ
10.30am – 3.30pm
ENTRIES BY 5th April 2019

KVGTS is offering “Away Day” training for 10 members to train with Jane and Keith Manley at their ground at Avon Tyrell. Both Jane and Keith are both very experienced trainers and field triallers and this day will provides our members with a great opportunity as they also have access to some fantastic ground including woodland as well as water, so the training will cover a variety of terrains.

The cost of the day will be £40 per dog (max 10 dogs), one dog per handler.
Please note this training is not suitable for dogs under 12months.

The format will be that half the group (five dogs) will spend the morning (approx. 10.30 – 12.30)
working with Jane and half with Keith, one group will use the water, the other group will use the
woodland. After a break for lunch (please bring your lunch with you), the groups will swap over so you will have opportunity to train in both terrains and with both trainers.
.
The day will be aimed at a novice level working towards intermediate level developing both handlers and dogs’ confidence on a variety of exercises.
-
On land, dogs should be able to walk to heel off lead, sit, stay, recall, and have a stop whistle. They should be able to achieve single marked retrieve, deliver to hand, remain reasonably steady when other dogs are working, achieve a double marked retrieve, a memory retrieve and a blind retrieve with shot.
-
All dogs must be able to enter water willingly
.
The day will be limited to 10 places
.
So that we can try to ensure that you and your dog get the most out of the day, please be honest and do not over estimate your dog’s achievements, hopefully this will then enable the whole group to progress through a variety of exercises during the day.

If oversubscribed, a draw will be made and unsuccessful cheques will be destroyed.
No refund will be given in the event of a handler withdrawing their dog before the closing dates unless the vacancy can be filled and no refunds given after the closing date.
