KVGTS Test Definitions 2016

All retriever working tests will be held under Kennel Club Regulations J.
All dogs must be registered with the Kennel Club and their Kennel Club registration number must be included on the entry form otherwise the entry will be deemed void according to KC regulations. Inoculations should be up to date. Any dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious disease during the 21 days prior to the day of the Test should not be brought to the Test. Bitches in season will not be allowed on the ground. Dogs that are out of control; or whine at tests may, at the discretion of the Judges, be excluded from further competition on the day.

Members entry fee £8, non-member fee £16

Late entries are at the discretion of the WT secretary and a late entry fee of £16 will apply

The draw will be published seven days before the test

Refunds will only be made if a dog is withdrawn more than 7 days before the test

A separate cheque must be sent for each dog and for each test

A separate form must be completed for each test e.g. do not enter an Intermediate on the same form as a Veteran

No dog may be entered in to more than one test running on the same day e.g. Intermediate & Veteran or Novice Walked-Up & Open Walked-Up

Preference will be given to KVGTS members

Entries not complying with the KVGTS retriever working test rules may be refused (ref: J7.d)

Definitions:

OPEN: Open to all dogs of a specific breed or breeds, although preference may be given to dogs which have gained a place or Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, been placed First, Second or Third in an Open GWT, or won a Novice GWT.

NOVICE: Confined to dogs which have not gained a place or Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, been placed First, Second or Third in an Open GWT, or First in a Novice GWT held in accordance with Kennel Club Rules and Field Trial Regulations.

PUPPY: Confined to dogs of specific breed or breeds less than eighteen (18) months of age on the day of the Test.

VETERAN (unclassified): Any dog or bitch aged eight years or over on the day of the test.

INTERMEDIATE (unclassified): Confined to dogs which have not gained a place or Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Open Test, or First in an Intermediate Working Test.

NOVICE DOG / NOVICE HANDLER (unclassified): Neither dog nor handler to have won any award, including Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, or 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Reserve in an Open or All-Aged Working Test, or 1st in ANY Working Test.

SPECIAL PUPPY (unclassified): Confined to dogs of specific breed or breeds no older than 24 months of age on the day of the Test.

OPEN Walked-up on FT Lines (unclassified) : Open to all dogs of a specific breed or breeds, although preference may be given to dogs which have gained a place or Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, been placed First, Second or Third in an Open GWT, or won a Novice GWT.

NOVICE Walked-up on FT Lines (unclassified) : Confined to dogs which have not gained a place or Certificate of Merit at a Field Trial, been placed First, Second or Third in an Open GWT, or First in a Novice GWT held in accordance with Kennel Club Rules and Field Trial Regulations. Nor to have been placed first in any novice walked up on FT lines.
